Florian & Colleen Gostner
Our names are Florian and Colleen Gostner and we serve as missionaries in Austria. Florian is a native Austrian, who completed a three year preaching program at the European Bible Training Center, along with his bachelors of theology at Martin Bucer Seminary. He also completed a two year pastoral internship at the baptist church in Innsbruck and has had a heart to serve in full-time ministry as a pastor. Colleen is an American who grew up in southeast Michigan. She graduated in December of 2009 from Oakland University with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and attended Spring Bible School 2012 at Capernwray Hall in Carnforth, England. She first visited Austria in 2012 and at that time, God began revealing to her the need for the Gospel in Austria. We have been married since 2014 and have three daughters, Eliana and our twins Naomi and Esther.
Currently Austria is a very spiritually weak and dark place. According to Operation World, only 0.5% of the population are believers in the Gospel of Christ. Our heart for ministering in Austria is to share the hope and salvation found through Christ and to equip and disciple nationals so that they may grow and become co-workers in sharing the news of Christ. There is also a desperate need for theologically trained native leaders, who are able to provide leadership and stability to Austria’s often struggling evangelical churches. That’s why we are very excited to have moved this past fall (2018) to Feldkirch, Austria where Florian is now serving as pastor of the FEG-Feldkirch (the evangelical church in Feldkirch).
